You will see your Kootenay CBDR 2022 collection now has 159 waypoints, “Click” on the collection to open it as a list of waypoints. I recommend you make the effort to import the waypoints, but it's your choice. You can display both the waypoint symbols and text by importing the waypoints to a collection, then editing the symbols. This is Ok, but is difficult to read while riding. All you get in the Zumo is the name of the waypoint displayed in black text. If you find the map re-draw is slow, then change back to "Normal" map detail.Īll the Zumo units use the automotive operating system, so the waypoints for the CBDR do not display normally. On “Normal” you must zoom in to 1.6 km level to see the route lines.
With the “More” setting the CBDR route lines show at zoom level 8 km. Next in “Map Detail” change that to “More” instead of “Normal”. Zoom in or out as needed, but return to 120 m. If you are new to GPS navigation, I suggest you try a zoom level of 120 meters for your normal level. On Manual / Disabled, it will stay at whatever level zoom level you pick. The Auto setting zooms in and out on the map according to your speed. You can see the wide blue route in the samples below.įind "Auto Zoom" change that to "Disabled" or "Manual". The CBDR ride is displayed as a Garmin format map, which is much easier to read than a track. The MicroSd card does not contain any Tracks. Then Long hold the power key to re-start. To fix that issue, Hold power key until you are prompted to “Turn off the device” pick “Ok”. Your Zumo may need a hard reboot to recognise the new microsd card. If your unit offers you the same CBDR map twice, just enable (check mark) one of the maps. So the files have to be in two folders on the MicroSD card, and "some" units will find both copies. Garmin has changed where the Zumo firmware looks for Map Files on recent units.
Turn on the unit, if you don’t see a progress bar loading maps, you likely won’t see any new maps in "Settings" "Maps and Vehicle" “My Maps”. You need to slide the metal retainer towards the outer edge of the unit to release the card. Be careful, the slot and holder for the card are fragile. Install the supplied MicroSd card in your Zumo unit.
